No medical experience or certifications necessary! Our Phlebotomists perform phlebotomy and collection procedures and processes related to the collection of whole blood (and/or blood components) from donors while our Team Leaders provide supervision, instruction, and guidance to the collection staff during blood drives or at branches.
Responsibilities Phlebotomists:
Obtains medical history and vitals from donors and/or patients Performs phlebotomy and collection procedures to collect blood or blood components Displays excellent customer service and professionalism towards all customers Assists with the recruitment of potential apheresis, and bone marrow donors.
Team Leaders:
All of the above Provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to the collection staff during blood drives or at branches; including assignment of meal/break periods Ensures that staff follow applicable Policies and Procedures Completes beginning and end of shift responsibilities including review of all donor records and regulated documents for accuracy and completion Ensures excellent customer service and professionalism towards all customers including communication to Donor Recruitment staff regarding issues and concerns on blood drives Responsible for driving the blood mobile.
Must have open availability.
Cannot work around school schedule or second job.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND/OR
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent.
For Teamleaders:
must have at least 6 months of leadership experience supervising a team.
Must also have a clear driver license with at least 7 years of generally good driving history.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:
NO EXPERIENCE OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED - Paid on-the-job training program KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Ability to read, understand and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to organize work for timely completion Ability to follow written instructions Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications COMPENSATION:
