Community & Veterans Services consist of the following Division/Sections:
Adult Services, Aging & Eligibility, Children Services, Community Development (CDBG), Affordable Housing Programs, Criminal Justice Coordination, Library Services, Neighborhood Connections, Probation Services, and Veterans Services.
We provide support that fill the gaps in Manatee County residents' lives to help them remain employed or become reemployed, stay in school, rehabilitate, gain new skills, or make ends meet.
We facilitate, partner with non-profit agencies, communities, and organizations and oversee human services that fulfill a wide range of needs.

This position has been designated by the Manatee County Commission as serving at the will and pleasure of the County Administrator.
Employees so designated may be terminated at any time with or without cause.
As the Director, Community & Veterans Services, you will be responsible for the overall direction of the Community & Veterans Services Department.
This includes review over the Consolidated Plan Review, Inspections and Permitting Programs, Project Management, Personnel Administration, Development and Implementation of Short- and Long-Range Planning, Program Objectives, and Departmental Budget.

Job Description What You Will Do Provide specialized professional assistance and project coordination for the CVS department requiring advanced knowledge of government process.
Provide operational oversight to all CVS Personnel in conjunction with the CVS Deputy Director.
Acts as a liaison between employees and management, train staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
Prepares and provides reports and presentations for the Board of County Commissioners, County Administrator, and the Department Directors concerning Community & Veterans Services.
Attends regular scheduled meetings such as management team meetings, capital improvement project, regular staff, and homeowner's association meetings.
Directs activities and programs of the department to ensure adherence to applicable County, State and Federal laws.

Minimum Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in human services, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field.
Minimum of three (3) years high level budgetary and/or detailed financial management experience.
Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience.
Desired Knowledge of the economic, social, and cultural factors affecting individual, community, and organizational needs.
Ability to understand and evaluate the Neighborhood Services needs of the population of Manatee County and formulate programs/services to meet them.
Knowledge in compliance for local, state, and federal regulatory requirements for planning and development.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
