Through its collection of restored buildings from Manatee County's settlement history and educational programming, MVHP offers visitors the ability to experience life in Manatee County before the arrival of modern conveniences such as automobiles and electricity.
The Education & Engagement Coordinator position is a full-time, non-supervisory position reporting to the Supervisor of the Manatee Village Historical Park.
This position serves a critical role in the coordination and administration of MVHP's educational initiatives, including school field trips, guest speaking engagements, educational programming for adults and children, and Manatee History Day.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Museum Education, Education, Public History or related field One year of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data, preferably in an automated systems environment Knowledge of basic principles of education or related classroom/field trip experience Demonstrated ability to work with adults and children in a teaching capacity Ability to develop and implement educational activities Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, proficiency in Microsoft Windows Suite Basic mathematical aptitude, as well as alpha and numeric filing skills required Demonstrated ability to create digital education content for adults and children Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information in engaging and creative ways; public speaking experience Professional oral and written communication skills Must be able to operate general office equipment Must possess a valid Florida driver's license Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job, including occasional weekends and evenings Organizational Values Along with the satisfactory performance of this job's essential functions, the employee in this position is expected to actively and consistently demonstrate the core values of the Clerk's Office.

Plans, schedules and orchestrates all school tours, and any educational outreach programs, including digital Coordinates Manatee History Day, an affiliate of National History Day with assistance from Co-Coordinator Plans, schedules and orchestrates all group tours Participates in social media initiatives and messaging for educational programs and History Day in collaboration with the Event and Volunteer Coordinator Participates in public speaking about local and Florida history relative to the subject matter of the museum Seeks outreach opportunities and coordinates participation, including being on site when needed Provides excellent customer service to all in person, in email, and over the phone; is approachable, helpful, and personable; answers questions knowledgeably and with patience Enforces museum policies in a firm but friendly manner Along with other staff, create, implement, and evaluate museum activities Works effectively on a small team; open to learning, able to take constructive feedback and takes responsibility for their own actions, work, and opinions Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and well while meeting deadlines Assists with all aspects of volunteer recruitment, retention, and direction Assists with all aspects of educational programming, special events, and visitor experience Assists with all operations of facility, including emergency preparedness, grounds/garden maintenance, and ongoing custodial duties Assists management with other related duties as assigned ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS The essential mental and physical functions listed below are required in order for an employee to be able to perform the essential functions of this position.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
