The ideal candidate will have previous experience in International Logistics such as working in a logistics position for an import company, a freight forwarder, a customs broker, or a bonded warehouse.

Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and your team members every step of the way as part of the coordination process.
Update our systems with accurate information.
Review supplier invoices, packing lists, tariff codes, and country of origin for accuracy.
Audit supplier and carrier invoices for accuracy.
Audit customs entries for accuracy.
Process shipping quote requests and maintain up-to-date inbound product packing table.
Keep track of costs per KG, piece, order, and shipment.
KPI's will be based on inward freight spend as a % of revenue.
An analytical eye to find ways to save money while conforming to our client's timelines.
Troubleshoot and follow through until resolved.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Proficient in Excel - you will be reformatting data, creating basic formulas, and using existing pivot tables to analyze data.
Attentive to document presentation, formatting, spelling, value, and volume calculations, and check for errors.
You will be creating client-facing commercial documents for foreign direct shipments to clients or exports.
Strong Math, Algebra, and Analytical skills - you will be working heavily in Excel and analyzing numbers.
You need to creatively consolidate, and plan shipping based on volume per location and deadlines.
Able to analyze open purchase orders by supplier, location, supplier dispatch date, client's required date, and shipping method to build freight consolidation shipments for optimal space and per CBM or KG air freight rate.
Ability to decipher errors in sequential number or variable data ranges.
Understanding of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule Understanding of International Documentation such as Commercial Invoices and Packing lists, Bills of lading, how to read and check a 7501-entry summary form, Country of Origin documents, etc Comfortable using UPS, DHL, and FedEx International shipping platforms.
Understand how to troubleshoot import and export customs hold document errors, and shipping delays.
Follow up on shipping status with freight forwarders & shipping carriers daily and communicate shipping status with clients and/or customer service.
Be detailed oriented, organized and have strong communication skills.
Be an independent problem solver.
