As an Intervention Teacher Assistant, you will work with a variety of students and teachers to provide student support.
Our ideal candidate is industrious, flexible, cooperative and familiar with child development and educational best practices.
This position is a full-time position starting at $16/hr.
Paraprofessional Duties and Responsibilities Prepare lesson plans and materials under the direction of the ESE Supervisor Work with students individually or in small groups both in and out of the classroom setting Maintain detailed records of students' progress on instructional or behavioral goals Ensure that students have all materials necessary for class activities Coordinate with classroom teachers to determine daily tasks Operate equipment including computers, printers, photocopiers, and laminators Under the supervision of specialists, execute therapeutic regimens Adhere to accommodations in students' IEPs and 504 plans Lead activities designed to foster students' mental, physical, and social development Assist and monitor student testing for state and district tests Provide extra help as needed to students with physical, mental, or linguistic limitations Supervise bus loading and unloading or car rider drop-off and pick-up Grade assignments and record results in school computer system Support students with assistive devices and supportive technologies Supervise students in various settings including classrooms including playgrounds Enforce school rules and policies Attend staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions Paraprofessional Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED; Preference given to those with a passing score on the Paraprofessional test or college credit hours in childhood development/education.
At least one year of relevant experience in an educational setting Exemplary written and spoken communication skills Strong collaboration skills; able to work well with a team Effective multitasker; can prioritize tasks based on importance and deadlines Must pass background check and have references verified prior to employment Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required Ability to complete and maintain PCM (Professional Crisis Management) and and or ACTT (Aggression Control Techniques Training) Certification Willing to be moved as assigned Job Types:
