JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW The Analyst Health Plan Pricing is responsible for ensuring the appropriate medical rate is assigned for a prospect.
TriNet's Benefits Management Group oversees close to three quarter of a billion dollars in annualized premiums for all employee benefits products.
The Analyst Health Plan Pricing is a critical component in the process of marketing and selling our entire PEO package to a prospect.
Analysts use specialized tools developed by third party industry experts and TriNet's carrier partners to evaluate submitted documents and census information to determine the correct medical pricing for prospects based on the actual risk they present.
They will also be responsible for the generation of canned reports and ad hoc reports as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES - Evaluate required documents using multiple tools such as a parity testing tool and medical pricing/banding tool.
- Conduct prospect census review and review of a prospects medical plans and rates.
- Work independently to determine an appropriate medical band based on risk of the group.
- Work directly with field personnel as necessary.
- Produce reports as necessary.
- Support Product Manager of Benefits as needed.
- Assist with reviewing and evaluating the output of the tools and resources TriNet uses and making suggestions for improvements on these tools and the underwriting process.
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree.
Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):

Experience:
3-5 years' prior experience in health plan pricing or underwriting or combination of risk management and health plan pricing or employee benefits experience Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read, interpret and analyze detailed medical plans and related documents - Ability to use mathematical skills to solve problems - Exercise independent thinking and complete projects with little guidance - Salesforce.
com knowledge is preferred - Ability to use good time management skills, to work under pressure - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Intermediate proficiency in Excel as one primary tool is Excel based - Ability to interact with Sales personnel to explain medical underwriting guidelines, requirements etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER INFORMATION (Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc.
) - Be able to work 8am - 5pm EST, negotiable West Coast hours 11-8 EST.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
